teaching philosophy

Teaching is a commitment to education as an idea and the student as an individual. With this commitment comes the responsibility of educating the student into an awareness of his or her world and their relationship within it. By providing constructive critical judgment and enthusiasm, my aim is to help the student realise his or her full potential in whatever direction that may be, and to inspire a confident rigor in both thinking and making. I consider my role as a teacher as that of facilitator. I aspire to provide as much support, guidance and information as possible to create a learning environment in which the student is encouraged to question, to think, and to explore and resolve ideas for his or herself.
